MWB Golf Day 2017
“I know I am getting better at golf because I am hitting fewer spectators.” -
Gerald R. Ford
If you have ever seen me on a golf course then you know that golf
is not my forte however I do like a good walk with great company.
Despite hosting an annual golf day for the firm for the last seven
years my skills on the course have not improved much, however
being out in the beautiful Sussex countryside with 60 or so guests
in the glorious sunshine is a great way to spend a day.
Our event always starts early with a
briefing for the teams at 8am at Mid
Sussex Golf Club near Ditchling.
Following bacon rolls and coffee,
players headed out to their tees for
a shotgun start at 9am to start off 18
holes of golf in the blazing sun.
Fortunately my team – Amber, Simon
and Jade – were on hand to whizz round
in the buggies delivering water and
chocolate bars to keep the ‘athletes’
going for the four or so hours that
the game takes to play. We also took
advantage of the well stocked ‘halfway
hut’ near the MWB sponsored 8th hole.
Back at the clubhouse the players
were welcomed with a cold drink and
our now customary curry lunch before
88
prize giving. Congratulations to those
that took away a prize, my performance
certainly prevented my team mates from
being challengers for the trophy.
I think the following pictures show
that a good day was had by all and to
top it all we also raised £750 for our
chosen charity Rockinghorse by selling
mulligans and imposing bunker fines.
Thanks to all that came along to share
the day with us and to the wonderful
marketing team at MWB for their
organisation, early starts and late
finishes.
