Meet the team

Simon Fuller

team and the legal advisers . My daily activity as an estate agent became fairly predictable and the hours meant that I didn ’ t get a great deal of time with my family . I still get to meet new people most days which keeps it interesting but I also get to be in contact with clients and acquaintances who I already have good relations with meaning that there is always a friendly and familiar face not too far away . What I really like about working here is introducing new clients to the firm who go on to receive a great service from the legal teams for a particular job and therefore end up using the firm for other aspects of advice , as an estate agent it is often years before clients benefit from your service again .
So how do you usually spend your lunch hour if you get one ? I am often out visiting potential clients or referrers so it may be a lunch with them somewhere nice or in the not so pleasant surroundings of the front seat of my car . When I am not with potential clients , at a networking lunch or driving then I take a walk through the centre of Brighton to get a bit of exercise and take in the ever unusual and often random sights , the view is never the same twice .
What about when you get home from work ? My girlfriend and I always take time over making and eating dinner which is made even better when my daughter can join us . At this time of year a walk along the beach is always refreshing , sometimes with a stop at my local pub the Bulls Head on the way home .
How long have you been working for MWB ? About 3 months
What were you doing before ? Between 2000 and 2013 I was an estate agent . I started with a large corporate as a junior negotiator and had my first branch managers position in 2002 . I have worked in Littlehampton , Brighton and finally in Worthing from 2006 to 2013 running the town centre branch for Jacobs steel . I decided to leave estate agency 4 years ago and go to university , something I didn ’ t do when I was younger and I have just obtained a 2:1 from the University of Sussex in Psychology and Cognitive Science . I really enjoyed the studying and I am pleased with the result and what I have learned but I am very happy to be back to working full time .
What do you like about working here compared to your previous roles ?
I love the fact that there are different projects on all the time and that I have been given the opportunity to approach the job from my own angle while having the support of the marketing
What ’ s the best thing you ’ ve done at the firm so far ? I have set up a business referral arrangement with the areas largest independent estate agent and look forward to working with them and their clients in the future . I also took part in the organisation and attended the Best of British charity event in aid of our nominated charity Rockinghorse . A huge amount of money was raised and a great day out at the Grand in Brighton
What hobbies do you have ? I really enjoy swimming . I find it completely relaxing to focus the mind on breathing efficiently enough to swim a mile and it ’ s great exercise , being a Pisces maybe enjoying swimming is a given . I like to spend time at the beach with my family in or out of the water , dinner with friends , a walk by the sea and the occasional game of poker .
Is there anything else that Re : readers would be surprised to find out about you ? I have twice lived in a motorhome . In 1999 I bought one in Australia and did the grand tour and ten years later we took my daughter who was 4 years old to travel Europe for 7 months .
