I grabbed a beer out of Vern's ever stocked refrigerator, and we fell right into our Abbot and Costello routine like we usually do of cracking jokes, and telling stories at the expense of every major player in the Exotic boat world. After we got through that routine we walked outside to take a look at "The Beast." As loose lipped as we get in our story telling, I always have to give it up to Vern for being tight lipped when it matters. He will tell you just enough to peak your interest, but not enough to give away the farm.

A few years back Chip Romer (Romer Beverage of LHC), ran 191 mph with a Brummett Powered 388 Skater. Unfortunately Chip lost interest in the Exotics and ended up selling his entire program. Thankfully Greg Olson stepped up to again bring the Top Dog trophy back to the West Coast and beat not only the entire field, but Chip's record by one mph running 192 mph in a 33 Eliminator "Fatal Attraction" with GT Power. Greg has since sold his boat to Tim Pivonka (of Lake Havasu) whom will also be returning to LOTO this year to attend the Shoot Out.
