I feel really lucky to have spent 10 months here, as a doctor but also as a student of a wonderful neurology teacher, Dr. Moreno, who invited me to assist at outreach camps and to meet more patients and families in the villages or in Mau. But what is the most wonderful thing about being a volunteer in KIRAN? Living in KIRAN village and feeling part of the family, almost being adopted by the hostel children! I don’t have enough fingers to count how many new friends I have made from every generation and I’m sure I will keep all these smiles in my heart for a very long time. I have 3000 pictures to remind me how happy I felt when I was in India!
