Broadcast Systems Technology BSc (Hons) Outside Broadcast Technology BSc (Hons)
Broadcast systems technology is the
study of the infrastructures involved
in transmission. This Skillset
accredited course will give you an
understanding of how broadcast
technology is used in television, and
also emerging practices connected
with online video. Outside broadcast technology is
the study of live events acquired
outside of the studio environment.
This Skillset accredited course will
give you a broad-based understanding
of broadcast technology, together
with an in-depth knowledge of
outside broadcasting techniques. students are highly sought after
and many are working part-time
in industry before they graduate.
Futures
Broadcast specialists work in a variety
of outside broadcast environments,
supporting news operations, sports
coverage, live music events, product
launches or theatr ical performances.
The majority of our graduates are
employed within six months of
graduating and leave with the skills
to cope with whatever changes the
broadcast industry will experience. Year One
You will build knowledge in audio
broadcast technology and television
production alongside developing
studio and equipment skills. You will
learn about the broadcast industry
and the various roles within it. We
encourage you to start thinking
about your contextual studies
research throughout this year.
Futures
Broadcast specialists work in emerging
new media industries in systems design,
installation, maintenance and support,
to server system support in studio and
location production, post-production
and transmission. The majority of
our graduates are employed within
six months of graduating, and leave
with the skills to cope with whatever
changes the broadcast industry
will experience.

engineer who can design and support
broadcast systems. This course is

and BKSTS (British Kinematograph,
Sound and Television Society).

studies research in a long form
dissertation.
