The Study Zone
The Study Zone offers access to an
ever growing range of print, online and
audio-visual resources. This includes
over 18,000 books, a sizeable eBook
collection and some of the best
industry databases and journals.
We also have one of the first materials
libraries in the UK, enabling you to
check the properties and texture of
different materials as you develop
your projects and ideas.
The Study Zone is set up so
that students can navigate both
the resources and the space
independently, yet qualified staff
are also on hand for additional
support, throughout the week.
Our online resources are available
24 hours a day, 7 days a week,
meaning you don’t even have to
be on campus to make the most
of our collection.

Central Loan Resources
Our Central Loan Resource
(CLR) holds over 3,000 items of
equipment that can be booked
by students following appropriate
inductions from their tutors, including,
but not limited to: cameras, lighting,
audio equipment, laptops, knitting
and sewing machines, tablets and IT
accessories. As you progress through
your studies your access to equipment
will increase in line with the technical
skills you are developing.
CLR stock is updated each term to
meet industry standards and keep
our students ahead of the game.
Recent acquisitions include: Canon
C100s, Canon C300s, Sony FS700s,
Black Magic cinema cameras, and
a new Steadicam rig and other
stabilising systems; Sound Devices
633 Audio Mixer, Analog synths,
and Neumann Mics; Litepanels
LED lighting kits; Bowens pop-up
studio lighting kits and Elinchrom
photography kits; Canon and Nikon
DSLR’s, with lenses to match.
CLR staff are film, audio and
broadcasting professionals
who will help you find the best
equipment for your projects.

the UK to partner with Material ConneXion,
a global materials consultancy.
