Tip #1 If you think your guests will have a problem with it, don’t tell them that it is a vegan baby shower. Those mother-in- laws, great aunts, and skeptical friends who believe you need animal products to have fun will be pleasantly surprised by how delicious vegan food can be! Tip #2 Don’t make a massive meal out of it. Not only would it be a lot of work for yourself, but most people expect animal products at major meals. By sticking to finger foods and desserts, no- body will even notice the lack of animal cruelty. Tip #3 Colors! A wide variety of bright colors immediately attracts the human eye. Offer a massive fruit platter with every color of the rainbow and/or a veggie platter with an assortment of incredible vegan dips. 22 Raise Vegan AUGUST 2018 Tip #4 Sweets, sweets, sweets! Everybo- dy loves a good cupcake, scone or brownie, and these desserts are so simple to make vegan. There are many wonderful reci- pes from Raise Vegan, and even mixes available at the grocery store. If you are questioning your baking skills, check out your local natural foods store for premade vegan baked goods. Many bakeries are also able to create vegan items if given ad- vance notice. Tip #5 To make your party extra ve- gan, ditch the plastic utensils and cups and use your normal dishware instead. However, if you are one who really hates cleanup, there are some great biodegradable options online. To make drinks feel extra fancy, purchase paper or stainless steel straws! Tip #6 Decorate your heart out! Not only will the beautiful fresh food add to the appeal, but by putting out fresh plants and other taste- ful decorations, guests will look back on it as a party to remem- ber.
