Prime Minister Narendra Modi Launches 12 km
Stretch Of -Delhi Metro’s Magenta Line

The 12.64-km long section, part of the
upcoming Botanical Garden (Noida)-Janakpuri
West (Delhi) corridor, has nine stations.
In Delhi-
Prime Minister Narendra Modi On
December 25 , 2017 launched a 12-
km stretch of Delhi Metro’s Magenta
Line with a ride between the Botanical
Garden & the Okhla Bird Sanctuary
stations. Modi was accompanied by
Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik, Uttar
Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,
Union Minister for Housing and Urban
Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri and Delhi
Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) chief
Mangu Singh during the metro ride.

Modi Launched The Stretch:

Botanical Garden
Okhla Birds Sanctuary
While the Kalkaji Mandir station is underground,
all the other stations are elevated.
Modi launched the 12-km stretch of the
Magenta Line, a part of the metro’s phase-
III construction, with a ride between the
Botanical Garden and Okhla Bird Sanctuary
stations in Noida.
Driverless Trains Introduced:
The new trains that can run without a driver will be put on
tracks for the first time on Magenta Line.
On this route, state-of-the-art CBTC (communication based
train control) signal technology will be installed to help track
the movement of the train within 90 to 100 seconds.
With this launch, the total length of the metro
network in Delhi-NCR has increased to 228
kilometres.

Initially, the frequency of the trains will be 5 minute 14
seconds with 10 trains being pressed into service.
First-Ever Interchange Station
Outside Delhi-
The Botanical Garden, part of the Blue Line (Dwarka-Noida
City Centre), has been developed as the metro’s first-ever
interchange station outside the boundaries of Delhi.
The Kalkaji Mandir station is also part of the Violet Line
(Kashmere Gate-Escorts Mujesar).
