After SXSW Tacocat will be on tour routing through the U.S. and the U.K. After searching the tour dates and locations. I noticed there wasn’t a mention of California so I became very concerned. Emily’s answer, “We have a tour planned for July and we will hit California pretty hard, we love it there. In-N-Out grilled cheese forever!" Also while touring I found out something that their fans may not know. Tacocat is known for being late to every single thing no matter how hard they try. Their theme song is “I Can’t Make It On Time” by the Ramons.

This will be Tacocat’s second tour through the U.K. and I was curious as to their opinion of differences playing in the U.S. as to the U.K. Emily said in their experience European shows really want to take care of the artists in a way that the average venue in the States won’t/can’t really do. They had amazing meals cooked for them, places to stay, set up as part of the show, and in general just really friendly interactions with folks who are STOKED to see live music and go out to see every show they can, no matter what the genre. An answer that I thought was awesome although sad on many levels for the U.S.; A topic I will definitely be touching in a future issue.

Last but not least! CONGRATULATIONS to Tacocat on landing the Power Puff Girls new theme song!!! How did this happen, I asked? Did Cartoon Network reach out to you or does one submit a song?

Cartoon Network reached out to Tacocat, which was so surreal for them! They almost didn’t think it could be real. They said it took a few months to get the song worked out, and then a few days to record it with a composer who flew to Seattle from LA. Tacocat got to see an episode the last time they were in LA visiting the Cartoon Network offices and they said the re-vamp is so good and Tacocat is super excited to be a part of it!
