Even with her music career taking precedent, Tarver has
found time to squeeze in acting gigs every so often. While
taking a sabbatical to film Lifetime movie Dead on Campus,
the actress used the month off in Canada to refresh and
recharge before writing more songs.
There aren’t any immediate plans for an album release,
but Tarver has released the first of many individual
songs via her Soundcloud page. The track, “Weekend
Millionaires,” is described as an ode to living it up on the
weekend while emptying your pockets. She says the fun,
yet sarcastic, nature of the song will encapsulate her style
and be a preview of what’s to come with her music.
Before she braves Los Angeles’s wretched rush-hour
traffic for an audition, Tarver confidently says she’s ready
to do what few in her position have been successfully able
to pull off. No, it’s not getting to the audition on time.
Rather, Tarver’s budding confidence in her songwriting
and pop sensibilities will prove that even though “Crazy
Stupid Love” was a hit for Cole, it is the opening salvo on
a promising career.
