252. DIMINUTIVE MAHOGANY AND SCRIMSHAW SPICE CABINET, Nantucket, MA circa 1850, with applied scrimshaw panels and sheet metal drawer linings, maker unknown. This charming cabinet is distinguished by its applied scrimshaw panels which are finely incised with a central mariner’s compass, pair of urns and clipper ships, sun and moon faces, houses, birds and cornucopia.
