on double stretchered legs; “second” black

century, painted with sprays of flowers and bands of stylized motifs.

New England, circa 1800, the circular top tilts above a vase-turned
standard on tripod cabriole; perimeters enhanced with contrasting
white-painted bands. The surface of the top is haunted by ghosts of
