IMPORTANT SIMON WILLARD (MASSACHUSETTS 1753-1848) TALL CASE CLOCK, face and movement circa 1787, accompanied by the original hand written bill of sale, “Roxbury June 21, 1787, Mr. Seth Livingston. Bought of Simon Willard one eight Day Clock 9.00 the payment in full Simon Willard”. The clock face and works mounted in a tall case made by Seth Livingston for his wife. The case in a dark red stain with scalloped bonnet and original spike and ball finials above triple molded and step-back crown, four plain columns, molded mid-body case above a slender arched door above a molded plinth. Height 96 in. Width 19 ¾ in. Depth 10 in. Accompanying this lot is the original bill of sale, as well as Seth Livingston’s ledger from 1795-1806, his tools and chest as well as a family genealogy showing the current owner, Livingston—the purchaser and cabinet maker—and the Warrens who came over on the Mayflower. Note: Seth Livingston fought at the Battle of Lexington and Concord. This is the first and only time this collection is offered for sale since 1787. 93
