EXTREMELY RARE AND FINE SAILOR SCRIMSHANDED SPERM WHALE map TOOTH, American, mid 19th century, delicately incised in exquisite detail with map and chart of New Bedford Harbor, Buzzards Bay and the Elizabeth Islands, depicted center is a whaling ship’s return to port, showing it’s plotted course verso with an action filled whaling scene, a ship and four boats (one stove) hunt amidst a pod of whales spewing red-inked blood.
