original circa 1840s hand colored print by William Wolfe Alais who exhibited at the
Royal Academy in 1829 & 1833, and from which this whaler gained his inspiration.
Paper hand written sticker on reverse “Tooth of a Sperm Whale, South Pacific”.

well dressed Mother and daughter in fancy garb, copied from an illustration in the 1857
