POLYCHROME EROTIC WHALE TOOTH, circa 1870,
the obverse with a ¾ length portrait of a young lady with long
hair holding up the front of her dress to expose herself; the
reverse depicts two ship studies on the lower section of the
tooth. Height 6 ½ in.
192. FINE WHALE IVORY, SILVER & TROPICAL WOOD WALKING STICK, circa 1850, a skillfully carved right hand
clenched fist in a flat and ruffled shirt cuff cinched at the wrist by a very fine cord, two silver rings flank three turned ivory sections
with baleen spacers and three-dimensional eyelet; on a tropical wood tapering shaft ending with a baleen spacer and hollow ivory
ferrule. Note: The highly rare feature of space between the fingers.
