seat of scallop shell form, the arms modelled as
stylized dolphins, on legs of composite shell and
sea life forms.

SMOKER’S STAND, 19 th century, a lute-
strumming, pipe-smoking bear, leaning against a tree
trunk serves to uphold a pierced, carved oval tray top
filled with two hinged lidded boxes, two brass ash
receivers and a cigar cutter; all raised on a circular
plinth base with four scrolled feet.
