Born in Westport, NY, Turner was a noted painter and long-time teacher of watercolor painting,
best known for his depictions of landscapes, still lives and marine scenes painted both in realist and
impressionist styles. He exhibited at the Boston Art Club and entered the intimate circle of Childe
Hassam.
