197. RARE SCRIMSHAW PANBONE AND MAHOGANY SWING HANDLE
BONNET BOX, mid-19th Century, round form made of a single piece of bone joined by
riveted long laps with lollipop ends. The band top and base secured to the wood with bone
pegs, the handle is attached with turned knobs.
Height 7 ¾ in. Diameter 9 ½ in.

mahogany top and base, the box and lid trim from a single piece of panbone with 8 ½
finger laps. The top with a turned knob on a bone inlaid star.
