Products Virtual commissioning made easy Siemens is launching Version 9 of Simit, marking a new generation of its acclaimed virtual commissioning and plant operator training simulation software. Using Simit 9, automation functions can be comprehensively tested for development or functional faults and optimised prior to actual plant commissioning using real time simulation and emulation. The new Simit generation helps real commissioning processes to be carried out more quickly, more economically and with fewer risks. Simit 9 allows testing and optimisation of the automation solution within the simulation and emulation environment on a completely virtual basis using a totally integrated virtual controller. The virtual plant test can be performed directly at the workplace without available plant equipment and without the need for in-depth simulation expertise. RACA Highest fidelity humidity control The air humidification technology currently on the market has taken a significant step forward with the upgraded Carel heaterSteam range of high-precision heater humidifiers, available in models from 2-80kg/h. The product has been overhauled in every aspect, from its mechanical components to the new electronic controller with graphic interface based on the c.pCO platform. The new software functions make heaterSteam even more reliable and versatile, while its extensive connectivity allows seamless communication with any building management system (BMS). These improvements mean heaterSteam is the ideal solution for all high-tech applications. The range has been further extended to include heaterSteam Titanium, the world’s only humidifier with titanium heaters, representing the pinnacle of this family of cutting-edge humidifiers. The cable connection of the model TF37 decouples the measuring point and connection point. Vibrations and high medium temperatures therefore have no negative effect on the measurement quality or the instrument. Appropriate to the harsh operating conditions, the new temperature sensor features a high shock and vibration resistance. It is resistant to temperature fluctuations and withstands process pressures of up to 50 bar. 94 RACA Journal I June 2016 The compact thermometer has been designed for measuring ranges from -50°C to +26°C and can be delivered with all common measuring elements. The cable length is determined in accordance with the particular application. With the design of the Thermowell, customerspecific solutions are also possible.
