Make-A-Wish New Mexico

NMASBO sponsored Rhea’s Wish to go to Walt Disney World and the check was presented to Rhea and her mother at the 2017 Spring Budget Workshop in April!

“To ease another’s heartache is to forget one’s own.” - Abraham Lincoln

It is hard to believe, but we are soon concluding yet another fiscal year. This particular fiscal year brought more challenges to us than previous years. While we all work through our hardships in different ways, I like to think that, collectively, working together on the Social Responsibility Campaign for children has done for you what Abraham Lincoln so eloquently stated above. I know it has for me.

I am particularly proud that it shows that our school business community cares about more than debits and

credits.

Our first Social Responsibility Campaign was for Coats for Kids, which was a great success. We followed that up with an even greater success this year by sponsoring Make-A-Wish Foundation of NM. Your generosity led to us raising $5,000 for Rhea, who suffers from hemophilia. Your contribution allowed us to grant her wish and send her and her family to Disney World. If you were present at Spring Budget Workshop, you heard her express her gratitude to us and share her experiences about her fantastic trip. We, again, thank you all for providing Rhea and her family her once in a lifetime trip!

Make-A-Wish® New Mexico has granted nearly 2,000 Wishes to date – each one a life-affirming testament to hope, inspiration, and resilience for a New Mexico child. Wishes strengthen wish kids and their families, rally communities together, and change the lives of everyone involved. Experience the stories of those who know firsthand the power of a wish-come-true.
