2017 Boot Camp

Monday, October 2nd - Friday, October 6th

Embassy Suites, Albuquerque, NM

The School Business Boot Camp is an intensive, one-week instruction for individuals new to the school business manager position or for those seeking a comprehensive knowledge of New Mexico public school business. Training will be conducted in a small, relaxed, class setting. In order to receive a certificate of completion the attendee must attend all of the sessions.

Remember, the successful financial management of Districts or Charters is the key to adequate delivery of education to our students and for maintaining the confidence of our stakeholders.

The Boot Camp is a week-long, rigorous training that will provide you with the basic skills and knowledge to give your career a jump start to success. You will find the trainers to be high quality experts in their subject matter. Equally important, new friendships are developed during the week which provides a great network to call upon when needed. Understanding that a full week out of the office can be burdensome, we build time into the schedule for you to check in with your office and take care of business as needed.

For those of you who think you might be interested in the 2017 Boot Camp, I would encourage you to begin communicating with the NMASBO staff. Be the first in line for the 2017 Boot Camp!

At the rate this school year has come and gone, the 2017 Boot Camp is just a blink away! Each year, we have a waiting list for this valuable training, so you will want to get your name on the list as soon as possible by contacting the NMASBO office in Albuquerque at 505-923-3283. The NMASBO staff does an excellent job with preparations leading up to the event and in ensuring everything goes off without a hitch. You will find them attentive to meeting your needs leading up to the week of training.

Each year, we survey our participants, asking them to be very candid in their responses. The Board and the training committee review these surveys carefully with the idea of affecting positive change for the subsequent year’s Boot Camp.

We have received positive feedback on the value of the training from Superintendents and Directors who have attended our Boot Camp in the past. Other participants have commented about how relevant the sessions are to the work awaiting them back at their offices.
