NMASBO is the recognized leader in school business management and the trusted expert in quality professional development and information resource for school business in New Mexico.

Lastly, through our new emphasis on member engagement and volunteer opportunities, I hope you are getting more involved in the association by volunteering on committees or participating in some way at the various conferences.

I really hope that everyone who aspires to get more involved with NMASBO is provided that opportunity. We are always in need of presenters, moderators, and greeters at our conferences. The NMASBO committee chairs are also looking for people interested in serving on one of our standing committees or on an ad hoc committee that may be formed for a specific purpose during the year.

As I begin my second year as President, I want you all to feel that your membership and involvement in NMASBO is both professionally and personally rewarding. If you feel the NMASBO staff or NMASBO Board of Directors could enhance your membership experience, please feel free to let any of us know how we can serve you better. Thank you so much for your participation in NMASBO and for your contribution to the school business profession.

President's Message

I hope everyone’s budget season went well and you are all performing magic again this year with your budgets. Now, we are on to closing the fiscal year, opening a new fiscal year and preparing for the audit. How many times do you get asked, “What do you do with your summers off?” Summer months are by far some of the craziest times for a school district’s business office. I definitely feel your pain, but am so impressed by the incredible skill and expertise with which each of you do your job.

As you continue to grow and succeed in your jobs, NMASBO wants to be your resource for professional development, connecting with colleagues, as well as providing the means to become more involved in furthering the school business profession. Through our fall and winter regulatory trainings you are, hopefully, receiving the necessary professional development and information that guides you on a daily basis. Also, through your participation in the NMASBO General List Serve and the conferences, you remain connected with colleagues from all over the state.
