NMASBO is the recognized leader in school business management and the trusted expert in quality professional development and information resource for school business in New Mexico.

Favorite topics from the winter conference were the round-table discussions on budget, employment law recordkeeping and practical application of the 910-B5. There was also positive feedback on the hands-on Excel training. You could see some of these topics repeated on the Fall schedule in case you missed them in February. The Visions and APTA sessions always receive great reviews and will be available again at the Fall Conference.

If there are specific Visions or APTA areas you would like to hear about, send us those suggestions so that we can pass them along to the software vendors. Along with informative sessions, there will be numerous networking opportunities to mingle with your colleagues to discuss best practices and issues that affect us all. Watch your email in July for registration and hotel information.

2017 Fall Conference

Summer isn’t even in full swing, but plans are already being made for the NMASBO Fall Conference scheduled for September 13-15, 2017. The conference will be held at the beautiful Hotel Encanto in Las Cruces. Licensed School Business Officials must complete 16 contact hours per year of training or coursework in order to maintain their licenses. The Fall Conference will provide around 13 of those needed hours.

The training committee and the NMASBO staff have begun planning the schedule with potential topics and presenters. The committee strives to provide relevant training in response to requests and suggestions that you provide via the post-conference surveys. Please remember that you don’t have to wait for a survey to make suggestions.

If you have an idea for a training topic, email Jessica Montano, Jeannie Harris or your NMASBO district representative. Maybe you know someone who would provide a great presentation—send us that information too! Contact information can be found at www.nmasbo.org.
