It’s amazing how quickly time flies. It seems like yesterday the year was 2008 and the ASBO International Meeting & Expo was held in Denver, Colorado. I remember it so well; it was a defining year for NMASBO and the first time in history our association successfully ran our current president Randy Evans, for the ASBO International Board of Directors at the 2008 Annual Meeting and Expo. I was serving concurrently with Randy as the Chair of ASBO’s Affiliate Executive Director’s Group. We were both sitting on the ASBO Board advocating for members of ASBO International. We gained so much knowledge about ASBO’s history, mission, values, vision and goals for its membership. I was proud to serve on behalf of my fellow Executive Directors, but more importantly I was there with Randy on behalf of all our members here at NMASBO.
Let’s push the calendar and clock up nine years to 2017… the ASBO International Meeting & Expo will be held September 22-25, in our back yard in Denver, Colorado! NMASBO members please save the date. If you can make it to the 2017 ASBO International Annual Meeting & Expo, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. This is a perfect opportunity for you and your schools to have access to the latest professional development resources and network of practitioners who are the experts in the profession of School Business Finance throughout the country and abroad.
