We have planned another conference with lots of topics that are both timely and important to all of you. The agenda is based on your input when we planned and arranged the sessions and speakers for the upcoming conference; thank all you for your valuable ideas and please keep them coming for future conferences. Based on requests of members, we have arranged with Visions presenters to come in early on Wednesday morning to provide more basic training for brand new users and Visions will have their usual training sessions on Friday morning too.
We start off Wednesday afternoon with a fantastic general session presenter Murray Banks who has a presentation that everyone will enjoy. After his general session Murray will have a session on Wednesday afternoon. In addition to Murray we will have presentations on ACA and Tim Keller will discuss the latest audit issues for schools. Then on Thursday we have two presentations on school bonds one by George K. Baum and one by BLX on post issuance compliance. Other presentations that we have commitments for are as follows: 1) FLSA changes to the law, 2) POMS will present an interesting session on “arming school staff”, 3) Moss Adams will make a presentation on uniform guidance, 4) AXA will have a lunch and learn session and a session on financial literacy Friday morning. Additional sessions are as follows: 1) Ramon Vigil will present on employee/payroll issues, 2) Dina Holcomb will present a session on union negotiations/updates on legal decisions affecting collective bargaining, 3) Leslie Vigil will have a session on OBMS, 4) David Carter will have a session on leadership, 5) A J Forte will lead the presentation from the new state unemployment TPA.
Please note that there are several other sessions in the planning stage, but yet not firmed up as to the exact presenter. Once these discussions are completed, these other sessions will be added to the schedule. Thank you and look forward to seeing everyone at the conference at the new Buffalo Thunder venue.
