Region 2 - Teresa Casias- Wagon Mound Schools

My name is Teresa Casias and I was born and raised in the town of Wagon Mound; a small community in Northern New Mexico of about 300 people. I graduated as the 1995 class Valedictorian from Wagon Mound Public Schools. I later graduated Summa Cum Laude with the class of 1999 from New Mexico Highlands University with my degree in Accounting. My beautiful little family is made up of my partner Mike, and our two children, Michael and Marikita.

I started my career as Business Manager at Wagon Mound Public Schools in August 1999, and have been there ever since. As the Business Manager, I wear many hats and have learned many things, some that I will continue to incorporate in my everyday life and others that I will not do again.

I am proud to say that I have served as a Board Member on the Board of Directors for the New Mexico Association of School Business Officials since 2010. I have served as the Chair of the Scholarship Committee and am now the NMASBO Treasurer. I look forward to continuing to work with NMASBO as an organization, as well as with others in the field of school finance. Many thanks to the membership for putting your trust in me to help guide the organization in a way to better serve you.

Region 3 - Teresa Scott- Albuquerque Public Schools

Teresa is the Executive Director of Budget & Strategic Planning at the Albuquerque Public Schools. She has 16 years in school finance and a Bachelor of Business Administration from ENMU. She holds a Level 2 NM School Business Official

I was appointed to the NMASBO Board in November 2016. When I joined the Board, I was the Senior Director for Grant Management at Albuquerque Public Schools. My background in school finance began in Roswell NM where I managed the district grants. I moved to Albuquerque in 2005 and accepted a position in the grant office. Over the past 12 years, I have made many improvements to our grant department by increasing efficiency through new procedures. I have a close working relationship with our 25 Dependent Charter Schools and provide trainings throughout the district and with our Charters when necessary. I have recently accepted the position of Executive Director of Budget & Strategic Planning. I look forward to the challenges of this new position as well as the opportunity to serve the members of NMASBO in any way I can.
