The School Business Boot Camp is an intensive, one-week instruction for individuals new to the school business manager position or for those seeking a comprehensive knowledge of New Mexico public school business. these surveys carefully with the idea of affecting positive change for the 2018 Boot Camp. For those of you who think you might be interested in the 2018 Boot Camp, I would encourage you to begin communicating that interest with the NMASBO staff. The Boot Camp is a week-long intensive training that will provide you with the basic skills and knowledge to give your career a jump start to success. You will find the trainers to be high quality and experts in their subject matter. Understanding that a full week out of the office can be burdensome, we build time into the schedule for you to check in with your office and take care of business as needed. Superintendents and Directors also attend our Boot Camp and we have continually received feedback about the value they receive from training.

Remember, the successful financial management of Districts or Charters is the key to the adequate delivery of education to our students and for maintaining the confidence of our stakeholders. Be the first in line for the 2018 Boot Camp because you won’t want to miss out!

Each year, I’m amazed at the uniqueness of the Boot Camp participants from year to year. Boot Camp 2017 was no different. This group of folks was just as unique as each previous Boot Camp. As is typical though, participants took advantage of the opportunities to network among themselves and quickly developed new friendships along the way. The tone was set for this year when the Boot Camp began with a glorious evening at LVL 5 atop luxurious Hotel Chaco. The evening sky was mesmerizing and the food and company was excellent.

This year, we had 30 registered participants with all but five serving in some capacity within the Business Office of their District or Charter. As always, the trainers were all top notch in their fields. Participants were in awe of the knowledge shared with them throughout the week. The NMASBO staff did an excellent job with the preparations leading up to the event and ensured everything went off without a hitch throughout the week.

Each year, we survey our participants, asking them to be very candid with their responses. The

Board and the Training Committee will review
