Our district cannot afford for me to go to another training! This is probably the #1 reason that might be running through your head as to why you haven’t yet looked into attending the ASBO International conference on September 22-25, 2017 at the Sheraton in Downtown Denver, Colorado.
The question is: how can your district afford NOT to send you? You are a resource to your school, you are valuable, but you are more valuable when you take the time to improve your own skills and expand your professional network, outside of your comfort zone.
The ability to have access to your emails and your financial software from anywhere gives you the freedom to leave your office. The sessions are set so you have time to check in as needed with your office. The conference also falls over the weekend so it limits your time out of the office.

We have just completed a very strenuous year as school business officials in our state and I know that we are all trying to find ways to cut anywhere possible. • Find creative ways to increase efficiencies and reduce costs for your district.

• Discover valuable products and services for your schools and your office.
• Earn CPE credits and SFO recertification contact hours

Here are a few money saving ideas while planning your trip:
• Get together with other School Business Officials and carpool to Denver (especially if
you are from northern NM).
• Book flights early on Southwest.com.
• Stay at a hotel other than the host hotel a few blocks away and share with another
School Business Official.
• Take advantage of the free food offered throughout the conference.
• Request a fridge in your room and pick up snacks from a grocery store at a cheaper
cost than the hotel snack bar.
