It is a great accomplishment all slots for the 2015 Boot Camp were sold out by early August! We trust this is a reflection of NMASBO’s genuine efforts to pay close attention to attendee surveys and to affect continual improvement to this critical training. As you read in the last NMASBO Newsletter, the NMASBO office will maintain a waiting list for those of you who want to be considered, should a slot open up.

Though the 2015 Boot Camp will be in the same format as in the past, the training committee is currently discussing potential changes to the format for the following year. We are excited about the potential impact and benefit for attendees. Looking at the Fall Conference Schedule, you will notice that we are hosting a breakfast on Thursday morning for all past attendees and for those scheduled to attend this October. This breakfast will not be in competition with any other training provided at the Fall Conference so please join us. The purpose of this breakfast is to share some of the new ideas with you and, more importantly, to gain considerable input from you. Please come prepared to share your ideas for improvement to the process.

To the 2015 Boot Camp attendees: We will be sending you a booklet of all the training that will occur during your stay with us that week. We know you are very busy at this time of year but invite you to take the opportunity to review the material and make notes of particular areas about which you would like more information. Perhaps you have experienced a challenge or two in your short career and can share how your team overcame the difficulty. It is that networking and sharing of ideas that bring the most success to the Boot Camp.

I cannot wait to meet each one of you and find those precious gems within you that will bring you to a successful career in school finance. See you in October!
