The Boot Camp 2015 was a great event! From day one, we knew we were amongst an amazing group of participants. This group was intensely engaged every day and shared many challenges they have faced, which served as a great networking venue while enhancing the immediate training that was taking place. These individuals were full of passion for their workplaces as well as the week ahead.

The 2015 Boot Camp held a slightly different design this year. We began the week with a night of networking at St. Clair. This event brought about a solid bonding of the group from day one. We also carved into each day a time period for participants to take care of e-mails and to assist their offices. The benefit of this change was magnificent in that participants were able to be fully engaged during the training sessions.

The annual Boot Camp continues to be a highlight of the year for the participants, the presenters, the staff, the NMASBO Board members in attendance and the facilitator. This year we had 31 participants and 15 trainers. The NMASBO staff did an excellent job with the preparations leading up to the event and with ensuring everything went off without a hitch throughout the week. Our participants included those who are fairly new business managers, those who work in various business office positions, superintendents and an individual chosen from PED.

We found the week to be very rewarding and, yes, demanding! However, it is always an awesome experience to work with folks who want to do the best job possible and who soak up as much information as they can get their hands on, for as long as we are willing to share information with them. Each participant brought an amazing dedication to the week and I gained a great respect for each one of them as they shared ideas and challenges. As I suspected would happen, I, too, was learning throughout the week. The presenters brought unmatched expertise to the week’s schedule.

As we surveyed the participants at the end of the week, the responses had resounding similarities. All participants stated that the presenters were well prepared and were knowledgeable resources. The Board has reviewed the survey results and will provide the information to the Training Committee so that the next Boot Camp will be designed for an even greater delivery.

Be the first in line for the 2016 Boot Camp! You don’t want to miss out!
