Softened Stance
The Government has changed its plans to allow people to move assets out of , say , an offshore trust into an overseas CGTqualifying asset class between 16th March 2016 and 5th April 2017 . Assets that have been held outside the UK at any time in that period can now be appointed for rebasing . This is a carrot for investors that needs to be taken seriously
