CDE Global to build new office complex at HQ in Northern Ireland
global news
The Afghan Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has cancelled the licence to operate the country ’ s only significant cement producer , Ghori cement factory , claiming improper notification regarding change in ownership , reports Reuters . Ghori allegedly owes the government millions of dollars in unpaid taxes and fees , and has been plagued by disputes since privatisation in 2006 . According to Ministry spokesperson Zabihullah Sarwari , authorities neither met with nor approved the new owner , Afghan businessman Javid Jaihoon , before his buyout of shareholders in the Afghan Investment Company ( AIC ). AIC conditionally leased the factory from the government for 49 years in 2006 . Jaihoon claims he has invested almost USD60-million to bring Ghori to near full capacity , and says the contract was cancelled without formal arbitration or legal process . Factory operations will continue for now , although Sarwari said the licence would be put to international tender .

CDE Global to build new office complex at HQ in Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland based CDE Global has revealed plans to invest in building a multimillion-pound state-of-the-art office complex at its headquarters in Cookstown . The new development will house 400 people and is expected to be completed within 18 months of construction , beginning in February 2017 .
In April last year , CDE committed to creating 110 new jobs over the next six years as part of a GBP6.8-million investment into the business . The new office project represents an additional investment of GBP10-million . In January , CDE also increased product assembly space at its Cookstown campus by 32 % to allow for the production of 60 additional machines annually .
According to CDE managing director Brendan McGurgan , the offices will house all headquarters based staff across engineering , product development , sales and marketing , project management , health and safety , procurement , logistics , HR , and finance . “ The additional space will allow for our planned increase in employee numbers from the current level of just over 200 . The new office will not only accommodate this growth in numbers , but also allow for further expansion in the years after 2021 ,” he said .
According to McGurgan , the expansion is being driven by increased demand in export markets for CDE Global and CDEnviro .
“ We believe the layout of the new office will encourage greater levels of collaboration and allow us to host more inward visits from our customers . Our current offices will be transformed into a training facility for both our own people and our customers .”
