Each year, Aspasa members allow their
sites to undergo a health and safety audit,
conducted by Marius van Deventer from
Quality Business Solutions. Last year, Quarry
Southern Africa attended one of these audits
to see what they entail. Fire is a notable hazard anywhere that plant
machinery and vehicles are in use, and
quarries are no different. The extremely dry
conditions experienced in parts of the country
make this issue more pressing than ever.
