Investing in African Mining Indaba is the world’s largest mining
investment conference and the largest mining event in Africa.
Located in Cape Town, South Africa, for more than 20 years, this
event is dedicated to the successful capitalisation and development
of mining interests in Africa, and unites investors, mining
companies, governments and other stakeholders from around the
world to learn and network, all with the single goal of advancing
mining on the continent.
This year, 60 of the hottest emerging projects from across Africa
will be found at the heart of Mining Indaba 2018, at the newly
launched Junior Mining Showcase.

WOMEN IN MINING
Aspasa will host a Women in Mining conference in February, with
former Carte Blanche anchor Ruda Landman as the event’s guest
speaker and she will close the event with a panel discussion with all
the other speakers.

The South African Coal Ash Association (SACAA) is once again
hosting a conference that aims to advance responsible ash utilisation
in South Africa. This conference will provide a platform where
relevant stakeholders can interact and share knowledge and ideas
to grow the industry and will showcase new opportunities for
ash utilisation. Stakeholders such as ash generators, regulators,
researchers, users and entrepreneurs will benefit from attending this
conference.
Conference objectives
• Growth opportunities for ash utilisation (current and new)
• Government legislation and funding
• Research and development
The conference takes place on 22 February 2018, with a site visit to
various sites in the Vaal Triangle on 23 February 2018.
