FAP’s mission is to promote healthy military family development through the prevention, identification, and treat-
ment of intimate partner violence and child abuse and neglect. FAP stresses early intervention and education to
protect victims and increase family competencies.

One day workshop that gives couples tools to strengthen
their relationship and develop a happy, healthy marriage
which is a protective factor for preventing child abuse.
Topics of discussion include: communication, finances,
anger and conflict management and everyday decisions.

INCIDENT DETERMINATION COMMITTEE
(IDC) TRAINING
Fri, 5 Apr, 0815-1600, TBS/Cox Hall
Training fulfills MCO and IG requirements for all
commanders within 90 days of assuming command,
newly appointed IDC voting members, and annual
refresher training requirements. Training focuses on
domestic violence and child abuse prevention and the IDC
process when allegations are reported to FAP.
BLUE RIBBON FUN RUN/STROLLER BRIGADE
Sat, 27 Apr, 0930, MCX Parking Lot
Race Day On-Site Registration Begins at 0900 at Purvis
Road. Medals will be given to all participants.
Immediately following run, the MCCS Kids Fest will be held
beginning at 1000 with many fun activities for families.
CENTURY ANGER MANAGEMENT
Every Thu - 23 May, 1300-1500, TBS/Cox Hall
The goal of this 8-session course is to teach individuals
how to accurately examine triggers and perceptions of
situations and learn healthy ways to express frustrations
by using the 8 anger management tools.
Seminar Series gives parents simple tips to help manage
the big and small problems in life. This seminar will cover
the following topics: 1) The Power of Positive Parenting; 2)
Confident, Competent Children; and 3) Raising Resilient
Children.
2019 PREVENT CHILD ABUSE
SPEAKER SERIES

This event is an effort to acknowledge the importance
of communities working together to prevent child abuse.
FAP staff has invited experts on the field to educate our
community on the different forms of neglect, its outcome,
risk factors, and how adverse childhood experiences
(ACEs) affect parenting. Event is open to the public 18
and up. Childcare will not be provided.

The Community Counseling Program utilizes a holistic approach to assist people with overcoming some of life’s
most difficult challenges such as marital issues, parent/child relationship, family issues, communication, anger
management, school/work issues, adjustment issues, grief, and loss. All commands are welcome to contact the
Community Counseling Program and request a presentation or workshop on topics such as, but not limited to
Suicide Prevention, Emotional Resiliency, Trauma-Informed Care Training, etc.
