Family Advocacy Program ( FAP )

Our mission is to promote healthy military family development through the prevention , identification , and treatment of intimate partner violence and child abuse and neglect . FAP stresses early intervention and education to protect victims and increase family competencies .
INCIDENT DETERMINATION COMMITTEE TRAINING 2 MARCH , 0815-1600 - LH CR2 For commanders and leaders to learn more about domestic violence , child abuse , and our coordinated community response .
WARRIORS STRESS MANAGEMENT 14 MARCH , 0900-1530 - BPAC A one-day workshop exploring various stress management tools including Four Lenses , Stress 101 , nutrition , strategies for improved sleep , yoga , breathing and relaxation techniques . This workshop is a collaboration with MCCS Behavioral Health , Marine Corps Family Team Building and Semper Fit .
CENTURY ANGER MANAGEMENT 29 MARCH - 17 MAY , 0900-1100 - LH CR2 An 8 week course every Thursday that includes information about empathy , stress , responding versus reacting , self-talk , assertive communication , adjusting expectations , forgiveness , and time-outs .
CO-PARENTING 15 MARCH 0900-1500 - LH CR2 A one-day , child-focused workshop exploring co-parenting techniques for parents that are divorcing or separating . Workshop includes information about ages and stages of development and how to develop a co-parenting relationship .

The Community Counseling Program utilizes a holistic approach to assist people with overcoming some of life ’ s most difficult challenges such as marital issues , parent / child relationship , family issues , communication , anger management , school / work issues , adjustment issues , grief , and loss . All commands are welcome to contact the Community Counseling Program ( 703-432-6442 ) and request a presentation or workshop on topics such as , but not limited to Mental Health Awareness , Trauma & Resiliency Training , Suicide Prevention , etc .
