Family Advocacy Program ( FAP )

Our mission is to promote healthy military family development through the prevention , identification , and treatment of intimate partner violence and child abuse and neglect . FAP stresses early intervention and education to protect victims and increase family competencies .
WITHIN OUR REACH 8 JUN , 0900-1600 , LITTLE HALL / CR2 This workshop discusses expectations , communication , some family history , and the importance of commitment . Couples do not need to be worried about sharing openly in the group - answers are not shared with the larger group and are presented in a way that allows couples to receive the information without discussing any personal problems through videos , activities and facilitated group discussion . This workshop is a good compliment for couples considering or engaged with marital counseling or considering what is next in their relationship .
CENTURY ANGER MANAGEMENT 14 JUN - 2 AUG , 1300-1500 , COX HALL This class meets once a week for eight weeks . Topics include stress , empathy , responding versus reacting , self-talk , communication , adjusting expectations , forgiveness , and timeouts .

BABYSITTING GUIDELINES 12-13 May babysit children up to 4 hours 14-15 May babysit over 4 hours ( not overnight or weekends ) 16-17 May babysit children overnight or over the weekend * All children should have emergency telephone numbers and a number to locate a parent or other responsible adult .
These are only guidelines as each child is unique and may have special needs that require additional supervision . Before being left alone children need to be trained in self-care techniques such as knowledge of how to deal with : emergencies , conflicts with friends / siblings , handling loneliness or boredom , personal safety , simple first aid and fear .
New Parent Support Program ( NPSP )

TODDLER TIME 12 & 26 JUN , 0930-1100 Interactive playgroup for children ages 1-3 and their parents . Enjoy meeting other parents in a child friendly environment . Space is limited ; pre-registration is required .
BABY AND ME 12 & 26 JUN , 1300-1430 Learn how to take care of yourself and your baby during pregnancy . Class # 1 focuses on breastfeeding , while class # 2 focuses on labor preparation , including relaxation and breathing . Both classes are for expectant moms and dads ! Recommended for the last trimester of pregnancy .
BABY BOOT CAMP 22 JUN , 0800-1530 Learn about the first few months of your baby ’ s life and the fulfillment of being a parent . Learn how to change a diaper , bathe and dress and feed a baby . Learn ways to communicate with your baby , how to calm a fussy baby , and when to call the doctor . Learn how positive parenting is important for infant development . This class is for both expectant moms and dads !
DADS DAY IN THE PARK 23 JUN , 0930-1100 , BARNETT FIELD PLAYGROUND An event for Dad ’ s and their children ages 0-5 ; Join us for a ‘ Sports ’ themed event , with games and crafts . Do not forget to wear your favorite sports jersey ! No registration needed !
