in a positive destination six months after completing their course at Ayrshire College. Of these, 68% returned to the College to continue their studies, while 8% progressed to university and 6% to fur­ther study. Eighteen percent of our higher education respondents and twelve percent of our further education respondents secured employment. Innovation in learning and teaching Many students use the course materials on Moodle, the College’s virtual learning environment and examples are provided in this report. For 2015-16, all students will use Moodle as part of their induction and all subject areas will be required to use Moodle for learning and teaching. The establishment of a dedicated team of learning technologists acted as a catalyst for increased usage of the College’s virtual learning environment, Moodle. Resources were upgraded, rebranded and launched for the start of the 2014-15 academic year. Curriculum areas such as hospitality and hair and beauty made innovative use of the virtual learning environment. Student focus groups suggested further improvements which were introduced throughout the year. Student destinations The 2013-14 College Leaver Destination Survey tells us that 97% of respondents (3,962 full-time students) were Ensuring our students progress to a positive destination is a key priority for the College, and curriculum and service teams will continue to work together to ensure that our students receive the support they need as they progress from college onto further study or employment.
