All of the above factors have had a significant impact
on the retention and attainment of students in 201415, disappointing for the staff team across the College
who worked hard to maintain positive relationships
with students and provide a high quality experience in
very difficult circumstances. As part of our new quality
enhancement process, a robust review has taken place
in partnership with Education Scotland and the Scottish
Funding Council, and key actions outlined in this report
will be taken forward for session 2015-16.
The achievements outlined in this report would not have
been possible without the dedication and commitment of
staff. They engaged fully in the review of the
College, have been open and honest and have taken
ownership of quality assurance and enhancement.
I commend this report to you and would welcome your
feedback.
The challenges faced in 2014-15 have now been resolved
and the review of activity in the year demonstrates that a
great deal of innovative and sector leading practice was
validated by key stakeholders, employers, community
partners and our students.
Highlights of the year include:
• Positive impact on economic development
• Highly effective employer engagement
• Positive culture which celebrates equality and diversity
• Improved access and inclusion
• Innovative approaches in learning and teaching
• Strong partnership work and collaboration
• Announcement of an increase in student funding of
£1.2m in 2015-16.
