Scholarships for international students
QMU International Scholarships
The University is pleased to offer a
number of competitive scholarships of
£3,000 each for new international
students undertaking their first year of
study on an undergraduate or taught
postgraduate degree in the academic
year beginning September 2019. The
scholarship is granted as a reduction of
the tuition fee and is available to students
who are self-funding with an international
tuition fee of more than £9,000 for a
single year of study only. Applications
can be made by students who have
applied for a place to study at the
University. The application form can be

note that the application deadlines for
2019 will be at the end of March and the
end of May of that year.
Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships
These awards are jointly funded by QMU
and the Scottish Government. Awards
worth £8,000 each are available for
Canadian, Chinese, Indian, Pakistani and
US students studying on a full-time
taught master’s course at QMU. The
scholarships are granted as a reduction
of the tuition fee payable by the student.

Santander scholarships
QMU can offer a limited number of
Santander scholarships in 2019 for
international students, up to the value of
£5,000 each. Applications can be made
by students undertaking their first year of
study on a taught postgraduate degree
and who have applied for a place to
study at the University. Application forms
can be downloaded from the QMU
website at www.qmu.ac.uk/study-here/
fees-and-funding/scholarships-for-new-
students/. The application deadlines for
2019 will be the end of March and the
end of May of that year.
Students eligible to apply for both the
Santander and QMU International
Scholarships should only submit one
application. The International Office will
automatically consider applicants for
both scholarships.
