What were the key ideas behind
this development?
“Erskineville has a really diverse culture
in its heritage and precincts and we
wanted to deliver a bespoke project that
had real design integrity. The objective
was to deliver beautifully designed
apartments and a quality project. The
inspiration is quite Scandinavian with a
lot of white Danish influences, rose-gold
touches everywhere and metal around
the mirrors, which give it elegance.”
How does Smeg’s Piano Design range
fit in with your concept?
“I love the simplicity and beauty of it.
The cooktop, in particular, is beautiful
and doesn’t have the heaviness that
many others do. Smeg’s Piano range
[designed by Italian architect Renzo
Piano] is an elegant collection that
exudes quality.”
What sort of feel do these products
bring to the kitchen?
“They speak volumes. Often the first
things you see in a kitchen are the oven
and cooktop. The Smeg appliances we
have chosen indicate that everything
has been carefully considered, not just
thrown together. I think building starts
from the inside out and this building
ticks every box for us, delivering on
beauty inside and outside.”
