What are the subsidies for out-of-London Students? Inner Temple ● Education Day This qualifying session is specifically tailored for students studying at providers outside London. Sessions include ethics, advice on pupillage applications and the pitfalls of the early years of practice. Able to organise up to three local qualifying sessions - the Inn will provide assistance and funding. Middle Temple Lincoln's Inn Gray's Inn Most Qualifying Sessions are available to Out of London (OOL) students free of charge. ● May arrange up to four Qualifying Sessions at a location near their BPTC provider. The introductory events in London (qualify for 3 QS) would provide free accommodations. Exceptions are the residential weekends at Cumberland Lodge and in York, heavily subsidised for all participating students, and some events in Hall for which a small surcharge is made. Student’s Opinion: “Does not waive dining fee for outside London students (Middle Temple does)” The other collaborative circuits would provide residential (costs around GBP60-80 inc dinner). Meaning 6 out of 11 QS, accommodation is either free/ subsidised. May accrue up to 4 of their 12 Qualifying Sessions at events not organised by the Inn. Transport subsidies are not available. Student Advice: “Gray's is smaller and that means there's more interaction between students, benchers and the education department,” “My impression is that you get more one-on-one help and advice here than at other Inns.”
