Attend 12 compulsory Qualifying Sessions in order to be called to the Bar
(traditionally called “Dining sessions”). Attend 12 compulsory Qualifying Sessions in order to be called to the Bar
(traditionally called “Dining sessions”). A maximum of 6 Qualifying Session per
term.
There are compulsory Introductory Evenings.

Student Advocacy Weekends
BPTC Advocacy Days
Lectures
Presentation Skills Course
Education Days
Legal Research Training
Storytelling and Improvisation Techniques in Advocacy
Mooting Masterclass
Local Qualifying Sessions
Student’s Opinion:
“Inner temple is slightly less traditional, so to speak. Their events (or at least
the ones I’ve gone for) are mostly training sessions. We’ve had advocacy
trainings, storytelling workshops and Ethics workshops. The compulsory one is
only the introductory weekend, which you have lectures, speeches and training
sessions. They do provide food too.”

Qualifying Sessions).
Education Day.
Pre-dinner lecture.
Dinner and music recital.
Dinner and a moot.
Students undertaking the BPTC at providers outside London may arrange up to
four Qualifying Sessions locally.

“The Advocacy Weekend is absolutely fantastic. The trainers are well-respected
and highly qualified in the profession. A must-go for students who want to hone
their oral advocacy skills.”
