Isuzu Qld Open Regional Qualifiers announced
Golf Queensland is pleased to announce three regional qualifiers in 2017 for the Isuzu Queensland Open .
Tournament Director Luke Bates said the regional qualifiers are an important part of the pathway to the Isuzu Queensland Open .
“ This year exemptions will be provided to the winners of the North Queensland Open Championship ( Mackay Golf Club ) the City of Rockhampton Open Championship and the FNQ Open Championship which will be played at the Mossman Golf Club ,” Bates said .
“ Each Qualifying event will have the winner given an amateur exemption into the 2017 Isuzu Queensland Open which will be played at The Brisbane Golf Club .”
Golf North Queensland President Calvin Buckton said the District is thrilled to the have the qualifier exemption again in 2017 .
“ Last year the field increased from 86 to 190 with the addition of the qualifying exemption , with this year ’ s event in Mackay we are expecting a field of over 200 players ,” he said .
The Far North Queensland Men ’ s District President Sean Metcalf said the addition of the Isuzu Queensland Open Exemption to the FNQ Open Championship was a coup for Far North Queensland .
“ This will be a great motivator for the region ’ s top golfers to focus on performing well at the FNQ Open Championship ,” Metcalf said .
