vy sister

wrote a song many

years ago that she and I

sang at my grandmother's funeral

called "There's Something About a

Mama's Prayer". My grandmother on my dad's side was a God fearing woman and I can guarantee that every day she lifted her family up to the Lord in prayer. How often do we pray for our family? I'm sure the answer for some is that it's not as often as we should.

The words to the song are:

"There's something about a Mama's Prayer. It's made with such love and oh, such care. Mama's Prayers they stand wide open when Mama gets down on her knees. There's something about a Mama's prayer." (Jamie Hoover)

So as I reflect on that song, I look at the word PRAYER and these thoughts come to mind. Know that there isn't a problem, situation, or issue that God can not handle.

Power...There's power in prayer.

The prayer of a righteous person is powerful

and effective. James 5:16

Refuge...God is our refuge and strength, an

ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

Assurance - Nothing we are facing has caught

God by surprise. Now faith is the assurance

of things hoped for, the conviction of things

not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Yield to God. Surrender everything to Him.

Unless you surrender your family to God, you

will not be completely dependent upon Him.

Enjoy His Presence. During this time of prayer,

Rejoice in a God who hears you when you call

upon Him.

This is my heart song.
