There are 17 missions with numerous, difficult achievements to unlock. There are over 50 enemy types encountered throughout the game (including bosses). Player has to evade the green lasers. It finally happened.

A follower on Twitter tweeted the following: "How do you get so much time to play? I see these messages popping up all the time!!!" He was commenting on an automated psnprofile tweet. That question got me thinking, how do I get so much time to play? I'm a husband, father of two, hold a full-time job and still managed to find time. I am what is known as a "Gamer Dad".

I'm a Gamer, I always have been and always will be, but the way I game has changed. Gone are the days when I'd be at a friend’s house from 5am one day until 3am the next. Now it's more a case of getting in gametime when and where I can, such as lunchtime at work and evenings etc.

From my trophy log on PSN Profiles I can see I'm a Night Owl. Most of my trophies are earned between 9pm and 1am by which time the kids have been asleep for a good few hours. I guess I'm lucky that my wife likes her sleep too. She also understands my love of gaming even though she's isn't a Gamer herself and occasionally takes the kids to see the grandparents on her own on Sundays so I can have a gaming day.

As a rule, I tend not to game in front of my children, although we all occasionally have a boogie to "Just Dance" on the Wii. That's not to say I don't hop onto my Vita if the kids have an afternoon nap. When they are at the age that they understand what gaming is, I look forward to introducing them to my way of life.

Is there any advice I can offer? Yes. Get a PS Vita - you can be the Hero of the Sleepless Nights as you cradle your newborn back to sleep and game at the same time.

So fear not all you gamers and soon to be parents, your gaming life need not end; it just needs patching with a different firmware. I have made the transition from Gamer to Gamer dad and I know for a fact I'll be a Gamer Grandad too.
