Common Diversity Mistakes in the Hiring Process

IF THERE ’ S BEEN ONE POSITIVE OF 2020 , it ’ s been that employers are trying to figure out ways to increase opportunities for minority candidates in an effort to make their workforce more diverse . The benefits to such efforts , such as a wider range of staff viewpoints and a workforce that more accurately reflects the world we live in , are obvious .
And if you don ’ t think potential employees are noticing those efforts , think again . Glassdoor , the popular employer review site , is now allowing employees to rate their current or former companies on diversity , equity and inclusion . Glassdoor is also allowing employees and candidates to share anonymous demographic information on race and ethnicity , gender identity , sexual orientation , disability status and parental status , among other dimensions . That information will be displayed along with Glassdoor ’ s other basic information like ratings and salary reports .
