Hyatt has announced it is acquiring US spa and fitness brand exhale for 1 2 3 an undisclosed amount. Hyatt intends to offer exhale locations and programing as part of the World of Hyatt platform, offering new experiences for loyalty program members, and will also position the brand for “thoughtful global expansion,” including new free-standing locations and among Hyatt hotels where the offering fits. 2. Earthlite has announced its acquisition of Continuum Footspas, the professional pedicure spa line. The announcement comes just shortly after the passing of Continuum’s founder, John Meyerovich. 3. Lynda Solien Wolfe, vice president, massage & spa for Performance 4 Health received the Florida Chiropractic Association’s William C. “Bill” Lindsey Award at The National by FCA 2017. The award recognizes a chiropractic layperson for their heroic service to Americans and their commitment to educating the public on the benefits of chiropractic care. 4. The Hut Group (THG) has announced its acquisition of ESPA from affiliates of KSL Capital Partners, LLC. The investment is another strategic move for THG as it continues to expand its beauty offerings an international reach. giviNg BacK H HurricaNE HElP After two hurricanes, Harvey and Irma, wreaked havoc upon the southern U.S., many in the spa community may be wondering how they can help. The Salon and Spa Relief Fund is a non-profit organization established in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina to help salon and spa owners and their employees rebuild their lives and businesses. The fund has issued a 500 Challenge, which challenges organizations to donate $500 to assist storm victims in our industry, although donations of any size are welcome.
