In order to provide valuable tools to its members to accomplish health and wellness 1 goals, Florida Spa Association, located in Davie, Florida, has launched an educational wellness series. The association hopes this program will provide its members with the tools to create a healthy work environment and personal lifestyle. 2 2 Dermalogica, of Carson, California, has launched Expert Plus, the highest level of its Expert Program. The new platform will reward skin therapists for their Dermalogica expertise and dedication. Participants in the program will have to complete the multi-tiered Expert Program, perform core concepts in their salon, attend classes and embrace the Dermalogica spirit. These top performers will then become brand ambassadors. 3 3. Brazil’s Kurotel – Longevity Medical Center and Spa has released a new corporate video. The purpose of the video is to spread the medical center’s philosophy and motivate people to adopt more health- and wellness-oriented attitudes. 4. Precor Incorporated, located in Woodinville, Washington, has been named World Gym’s Vendor of the Year. This is the second time Precor has been given this award. The company is being honored for its high-quality products, service and customer support. 5 4 5. The Global Mentorship Pilot Program has selected David Erlich of Colorado’s Spa of the Rockies at Glenwood Hot Springs as one of its three U.S. representatives. The program sets out to inspire spa managers while they learn ways to effectively maneuver throughout the spa industry. The chosen representatives serve as mentors to help spa interns handle all aspects of their career. 6. The Washington Spa Alliance has announced a new format for its 5th annual 6 symposium in Washington, D.C. Leaders from regional spa associations across the U.S. are invited to participate this year. The symposium includes a luncheon celebrating Washington Spa Alliance’s fifth anniversary. Members of the Washington Spa Alliance and the regional associations represented are also set to meet congressional leaders to discuss how the spa industry can support the nation’s shift to a healthier lifestyle. GIVING BACK l Spafinder Wellness 365 has partnered with Wellness for Cancer to allow members of Spafinder Wellness 365’s global network to reach people who have experienced or are living with cancer. Wellness for Cancer has announced standardized training and business criteria for the wellness industry regarding cancer-focused treatments.
